13 November 2019 - The Epping Club Supports Koala Hospital
Continuing with their charitable work in 2019, award-winning Epping Club has turned its focus during the week of the catastrophic bushfires to supporting The Koala Hospital.
One of the impacts of the catastrophic bushfires is the destruction of habitat and injury of native animals. The Koala Hospital located in Coffs Harbour is the leading facility for the rescue and rehabilitation of the species.
Fires south of Port Macquarie (Crestwood) have recently devastated bushland which has a high number of breeding koalas in the area. This group of koalas is one of the most genetically diverse groups in Australia and is of enormous national significance.
There are fears as many as 350 koalas have perished with approximately 75% of the fireground footprint being prime koala habitat.
During the week of 13 – 20 November 2019 The Epping Club will donate $1 for every main meal sold in The Brasserie to the valuable work of The Koala Hospital. Further donations can be made via Customer Service.
Funds raised will be used for vetinary purposes as well as the installation of drinking stations into koala habitat areas.
For more information about The Koala Hospital please see the website. The Epping Club will report on the amount raised once the initiative is complete and holds a goal of $1000.
